With biomechanical video analysis, we go a little further than the footscan® you know from in all Runners’ lab stores.
6 high-speed cameras record at 125 frames per second your entire movement synchronously from different angles. The images are analyzed with Quintic Biomechanics video software. We can play and view the video frame by frame. This allows us to provide immediate feedback on your movement/running posture to you, your trainer, coach,… to injury-free and/or performance sports.
What do you do for a Quintic gait analysis?
For this analysis, it is best to put on comfortable running clothes. Preferably short running shorts and shirt without or with short sleeves.
How do I book a Quintic gait analysis?
We offer this technology as part of a prolab analysis. Both in the “gait analysis” package where we emphasize foot stability, shoe and and soles and in the “gait posture” package where the focus is on mapping your complete gait posture, these video images are used.
Once you know which package is right for you, you can make an appointment online. If you are in doubt or would like to consult verbally, please contact prolab@runnerslab.be.

FAQ
What is the difference between a Qualisys and a Quintic analysis?
In a Quintic analysis, we use 6 cameras to image your running posture. This allows us to analyze delayed images and magnify your running motion. We use this in both packages and use it to show the impact of your foot stability on the rest of your body.
A Qualisys analysis uses markers that not only look at your running posture visually, but also theoretically. Here the focus is on the complete running posture. This analysis is part of the “running posture” package and not the “gait analysis” package where the focus is more on your foot stability, shoes and soles.
Is this analysis for everyone?
Yes, anyone can book this analysis. You don’t need a prescription for it, and it’s not just for top athletes. On the contrary, recreational runners often have even more to gain from improving their running technique. We recommend working with your physiotherapist or trainer afterwards with the report you receive. Quintec technology is used in all Prolab packages offered. An overview of the packages most commonly taken can be found on the prolab page.
Do you need a prescription to have a Quintic video analysis done?
No. Anyone may book these analyses on their own initiative.
Can I come for an analysis at the Prolab at any moment?
No. For the Prolab tests, you should always make an appointment. Testing is done by professionals so an appointment is necessary to ensure that the right people as well as the infrastructure are available.
Where can I have a Quintic video analysis performed?
The Prolab is located at Runners’ lab, Westpoort 68, 2070 Zwijndrecht Belgium.
How much does a Quintic video analysis cost?
We offer the various analyses in packages because it is often a combination of services that ensures you get what you are looking for.
If your initial goal is to learn more about your foot stability and gait pattern, it is best to choose the “gait analysis” package. If you are particularly interested in your running technique and posture, then the “running posture” package is best suited. Both packages can be supplemented by optional services and analyses.
